About this guide
This guide illustrates and explains the traffic signs you are most likely to meet on the road. It is a companion to The Highway Code.
The 2023 edition adds:
- clean air zones, London’s ultra low emission and low emission zones, tunnel restriction codes, electric taxi parking, bus gates, shared space and parallel crossings
- revised signs for road charging, rising bollards, bus lanes, on-street parking, pedestrian and cycle zones, motorway signals and variable signs, service areas, diversion routes, urgent treatment centres, cycle traffic signals, roadworks and bridge height warnings
- guidance specific to Wales and to Scotland
